1. An independent, unofficial service

TrainJatra is an independent service made for the convenience of rail passengers. It is not an official application or website of Bangladesh Railway, and it is not operated by, affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by, endorsed by or in any other way connected to Bangladesh Railway, the Ministry of Railways, the Government of Bangladesh or any of their agencies or contractors.

“Bangladesh Railway” and the names of trains and stations are used only to identify the public services that the information relates to. All such names and marks belong to their respective owners. TrainJatra does not use the Bangladesh Railway logo and does not claim any right in those names.

TrainJatra does not sell, reserve or issue tickets, and cannot change, confirm or refund any booking. For tickets, official announcements, complaints and any decision that matters, use Bangladesh Railway’s own official channels.

2. What the Service provides

The Service shows train timetables, station information, and an estimate of where trains are and how late they are running. You may use it free of charge for your personal, non-commercial travel planning.

3. Accuracy of information

Timetable and station information is compiled from publicly available sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Trains can be rescheduled, re-routed, delayed or cancelled without that being reflected here.

Live positions, delays and arrival estimates are calculated from location reports voluntarily shared by passengers. They are estimates. They may be missing, late or wrong, especially when few passengers are sharing or the mobile signal is poor.

Always confirm departure times, platforms and cancellations with official sources before you travel. Do not rely on TrainJatra alone to catch a train or to make any safety, financial or legal decision.

4. Your safety

Use the Service only when it is safe to do so. Do not use your phone while crossing railway lines, boarding or leaving a moving train, or standing near the platform edge. Never stand on or near the track to check a train’s position.

5. Sharing your journey location

Sharing your location is voluntary. If you choose to share, you agree to share only while you are genuinely travelling on the train you selected, and to stop when you leave it.

You must not send false, simulated or altered locations, share for a train you are not on, or use any tool or method intended to mislead the Service or other passengers.

By sharing, you allow us to use your reports to calculate and publish the train’s position and timing as described in the Privacy Policy. You receive no payment or other compensation for sharing, and you may stop at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
• copy, scrape or harvest data from the Service in bulk, or use automated tools to access it, without our written permission;
• resell the Service or its data, or present it as an official Bangladesh Railway product;
• reverse engineer, modify or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it;
• use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that could harm other passengers or railway operations.

We may limit or block access that breaks these Terms or puts the Service at risk.

7. Intellectual property

The TrainJatra name, the app and website, their design and their software belong to TrainJatra and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them as these Terms allow.

Map data and map displays are provided by third parties, including © OpenStreetMap contributors and Google, under their own licences.

8. Third-party services

The Service uses and links to services run by others, such as map providers. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, timely or free of errors. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.

10. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, TrainJatra and the people who build and run it are not liable for any missed train, delay, cancellation, lost ticket cost, travel or accommodation expense, lost time or income, or any other indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or from relying on information shown in it.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we handle and why. It forms part of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of the place where you live.
